Mike and I would like to thank all of our customers who supported our small business in 2016. We look forward to serving you in 2017. Because we have the best dealers in the business, we are able to provide you with a wonderful selection of antiques and uniques. We rely on our customers for feedback – good and bad. We have taken that feedback and used it in Jackie’s Vision for Jackie’s Antique Mall on Brown. The antiques market has changed.
Harry Rinker has said it best:
Harry L. Rinker, an antiques and collectibles author and syndicated columnist, says the world of highly focused connoisseur-collectors has practically evaporated over the past few decades — and that to survive, [we] will have to continue to evolve into a showcase of the eclectic. “It’s not a collectors’ market anymore,” he says. “It’s a decorators’ market.” These days, it’s all about the Pinterest-ready look.
So my vision? A boutique-like curated antique store. Many customers visit antique stores for inspiration as well as to accent their homes with unique finds. I see our store featuring stylized vignettes to spark a customer’s imagination.
One vignette will be “Center Stage” at Jackie’s Antique Mall on Brown. This vignette will change every month with all items provided by all of our dealers. Our customers have told us that they want to see more new items more frequently.
Our customers have asked for more small furniture pieces. The center isle of our store will now feature three pieces of furniture – changed out monthly or as they sell. Plus you will always find wonderful pieces of furniture throughout the store.
We will be designating areas for our customer favorites like Salvage, Linens, Kitchen and Glass. You will also find these items in our dealer’s booths as well.
The transition has begun and it is exciting to see the changes each day. We think you will like the new offerings and updated look.
Happy New Year to all of our loyal customers. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you in 2017.
And Mike too!
